RSSI

RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) is an indicator of the radio signal strength that directly defines the radio communication quality. There are two RSSI values - Controller RSSI and Device RSSI, which shows the received signal strength seen from both the node (Device) and the gateway (Controller).

Normally these numbers are quite close to each other but may differ if one party has better reception than the other. The following table can be used as a guideline to determine if the signal strength is good enough:

It is recommended to avoid installation if any of two RSSI is below -75dBm. Such bad conditions may lead to intermittent communication problems and communication alarms in Boomerang. The Device RSSI is also shown as a technical measurement point in Boomerang.
