# Upload document

Upload documents to a shared category in [Documents](https://help.boomerang3.com/boomerang-3-user-manual/documents).

### Select scope

Select a system group, division, and group.

### Open the upload form

Click **Upload document** at the top.

You can also click **Upload document** above a specific category.

This preselects the category.

### Fill in document details

Enter the document name.

This is a display name, not the file name.

Select the category (if not already selected).

Click **Browse** and select the file.

### Upload and sign

Click **Upload** and complete the signature form.

A confirmation message is shown.

### Verify

Click **OK**.

The document is shown in the list.

### Document list columns

* **Name**: document display name (not the file name).
* **Uploaded**: upload time.
* **User**: who uploaded the file.
* **Type**: file type.
