Network problems due to incorrect power supply
Problems observed
The S2GW:
stops working,
cannot be detected in the network
can be detected but ssh connection cannot be established or is very slow and disconnects after a while.
Reason
The reason is incorrect power supply, usually it is SYS1381N-1205-W2E, 5V USB used for WIN nodes. The cases were observed when this power supply worked correctly for some time and then it deteriorated and the S2GW stopped operating correctly.
Solution
Raspberry Pi must use a dedicated PS .
The power supplies that shall be used are:
Stontronics T5989DV (RS P/N 103-4302)
Sunny SYS1885-1505 https://www.sunny-euro.com/
The incorrect power supplies of the gateways in the field shall be replaced to avoid problems in the future.
It is also very important to use the power supply that is dedicted for a given unit.
