# Network configuration

The S2GW gateway with default settings needs DHCP to obtain IP address.

If S2GW must use a static IP, then perform the steps presented in chapter [set-static-ip](https://help.boomerang3.com/s2gw-installation-manual/advanced_use/set-static-ip "mention").
