# Remote update of S2GW app

To update the S2GW app we use [WinSCP](https://app.gitbook.com/s/TkNcqXMlEcaKT7pfTYLd/file-transfer/winscp "mention") to copy the zip with  new app files to the S2GW SD card and then [Putty](https://app.gitbook.com/s/TkNcqXMlEcaKT7pfTYLd/console-access/putty "mention") with [Midnight Commander](https://app.gitbook.com/s/TkNcqXMlEcaKT7pfTYLd/midnight-commander "mention") to unzip the files into /boot/ICU/.

WinSCP cannot copy the files directly into /boot/ICU/ because it has no rights for this directory.
