Add a new service
There must be an S2 Node Server service running for every S2 radio network sending measurements to B3.
To add a new S2 Node Server service, click “plus” icon at the top left:

A service definition window is opened with the default values predefined in point 3.1.
Modify the default settings. Note that Service name, MAC address, UDP port and COM port must be unique:

Form item
Contents / function
Service name
A text displayed as a service name in the operating system. No spaces, up to 50 characters. It must be unique in the scope of the operating system, i.e. if multiple S2 Node Server services are installed on a single operating system then their names must be different.
Service description
Service description, any text.
Auto start checkbox
Checked – installs and starts service after “Create new”.
Unchecked – installs but does not start service after “Create new”. The service must be started manually.
MAC address from B3
An imaginary number that is an identifier of the S2 gateway in B3 that should be entered here in the form of MAC address as FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF where F is a hex digit. It must be unique in the scope of the B3 system.
Write it down as the same address will be used in point 4.2 to configure gateway in B3.
Boomerang server address
URL address of B3 server S2 receiver page. For all the S2 Node Server services communicating with the same B3 server this URL is the same.
Settings interval
The S2 Node Server service receives the S2 radio network settings from B3. This interval defines how frequently the service asks B3 for the new settings.
UDP port
The UDP port defines the communication port between the service and B3. It is generated automatically as 16000 + virtual COM port number so for e.g. COM4 it will be 16004. The UDP port must be unique.
COM port
The virtual COM port set for Tibbo used for communication with an S2 radio network handled by this service instance.
Click “Apply” to save or “Cancel” to close without saving.
After applying the settings, the service shall be created.
If the service was created successfully “The new service was created successfully!” message shall be displayed.
If “Auto start” checkbox was marked, a message “Service [Service Name] started” shall be displayed. The service shall be shown in the services list with “Running” status. If “Auto start” was not selected the service shall be shown with “Stopped” status.

This installation shall be repeated for all the S2 radio networks that will be connected to the B3 system.
