# Introduction

This manual is a user guide for the Boomerang 3 system, offered by ICU Scandinavia AB.

The Boomerang 3 system is an automatic system for logging and monitoring physical parameters such as temperature, relative humidity, and pressure.

It makes monitoring and quality assurance of your laboratory simple, precise, and efficient.

The system automatically collects information about parameters, for example, in refrigerators, freezers, incubators, and heating cabinets.

It triggers alarms if pre-set thresholds are exceeded. The alarm messages are delivered to designated contacts using defined methods such as e-mail, SMS, and voicemail.

It offers extended management including:

* user accounts with six levels of rights that enable a security system definition to reduce human-related threats,
* multilevel administration groups to reflect the company or department structure,
* infrastructure to define the hardware elements that deliver the measurements to the system,
* alarm definitions, with alarm ranges defining the conditions and alarm groups defining the distribution.

The Boomerang 3 was developed based on more than 20 years of experience in the field of automatic quality assurance.

# Login

Access to the system.

Boomerang 3 is web-based. Access it from a web browser on a PC, tablet, or smartphone.

Supported browsers include Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari.

To access the system, your Boomerang administrator provides:

* system address (URL)
* username
* password

You can also log in using a Microsoft Entra ID (Active Directory) account. This requires your user to be configured as an Entra (AD) user in Boomerang.

### Open the login page

1. Open a supported browser.
2. Enter the Boomerang 3 system address (URL).
3. Press **Enter**.

Optional: add the URL to your bookmarks to speed up future logins.

The login form opens:

# Login with Boomerang 3 account

Access with a Boomerang 3 account.

Use this method if you have a Boomerang 3 username and password.

Enter your username and password.

For most users, the username is your email address.

After login, the home view opens.

# Login with MS Entra (AD) account

Access with an MS Entra account.

Use this method if your Boomerang user is configured for Microsoft Entra ID (AD) login.

### Start Microsoft login

Click **Login with Microsoft**.

Microsoft displays the **Pick an account** form.

Select the Microsoft account you registered in Boomerang.

Approve the sign-in request in Microsoft Authenticator.

### Stay signed in prompt

The **Stay signed in** choice does not affect Boomerang login.

Click **Yes** or **No**.

Leave the Boomerang system.

Use logout to end your current session.

# Search

Searching for system items.

Many forms include a **Search** field. It filters the current list to items that match your text.

### Use search

1. Enter a search string.
2. Click the magnifying glass.

Search is case-insensitive.

### Clear search

Clear the search field and click the magnifying glass again. All items are shown.

### Search scope

Search scope depends on what you are searching.

Example: for users, search matches name, username, and email address.


# Sign

Confirming the actions

Signing confirms a change or action in the system. It provides traceability and an audit trail.

### When signing is required

Signing is required for changes that affect system state.

Examples:

* changing user settings (such as email)
* measuring point calibration adjustments
* alarm acceptance and signing

The system stores the signing history in the database.

### User Signature form

When signing is required, the **User Signature** form opens.

If PIN is enabled for the system group and for your user, the form looks like this:

Enter your username and password.

If PIN is enabled and selected, enter your PIN instead.

Add a short comment that explains the reason.

An administrator can make comments mandatory for a system group.

# Tooltips

Contextual help.

The blue question mark icon ![](/files/cY8FhTfniibX9hYpnSwh) provides contextual help.

Hover over the icon to show the tooltip.

On touch devices, tap the icon.

# List display

Lists view.

Most lists support pagination.

Use the **rows per page** control in the bottom-right corner of the list.

This changes how many rows are shown on one page.

If the list is longer than one page, use the page controls at the bottom.

# Scope of view

Things that define the user's view.

What you can see in Boomerang depends on:

* your user role and rights
* your position in the organisation structure
* the selected time range

Some items and actions are hidden if you do not have sufficient rights.

If you do not see expected data (for example, the latest readings), check [Time range selection](/boomerang-3-user-manual/common_elements/time-range-selection).

The data may be outside the current time range.


# Time range selection

View date and time range.

Use the time range selector to control what period is shown in graphs and lists.

Click the time range button in the upper-right corner of the **Overview** section.

The button label reflects the current selection.

Default is **Last 7 days**.

The selection applies to all views.

### Preset ranges

Select one of these ranges:

* **Last 24 hours**
* **Last 3 days**
* **Last 7 days**
* **Last 30 days**
* **Custom Range**

### Custom Range

If you select **Custom Range**, a form opens.

Select the start and end date.

To set exact times, use the start and end time fields below the calendar.

Click **Apply**.


# Show removed items

View of historical items.

Administrators can remove system items.

Removal is only possible when the item has no remaining dependencies.

If dependencies exist, Boomerang blocks the removal.

It shows what must be resolved first.

### Use the switch

In lists that support it, use the switch to toggle between:

* active items
* removed or inactive items

This is useful for accessing historical data.

Removed items are shown when the slider is to the right and blue.

### Restore

Some removed items can be restored.

Restore steps depend on the item type.

See the relevant chapter for that item.


# Navigation pane

Access to different functions of the system.

The navigation pane is on the left side of the home view. It gives access to Boomerang functions and pages.

### Collapse and expand

Click the minimize/maximize icon <img src="/files/PnodqiEYbId4Hc7KkJBD" alt="" data-size="line"> to collapse the pane.

Click it again to expand it.

# Dashboard

Main system view.

After login, the **Dashboard** opens.

If you open another view, click the Dashboard icon <img src="/files/L51YVXtvzqqz6PkUzNQ4" alt="" data-size="line"> in the navigation pane to return here.

### What you can do on the Dashboard

* Navigate the organisation structure (system group → division → group → object).
* See active alarms per group.
* Open object views and work with measuring points.
* Jump to common actions using the dashboard buttons.

# System structure

Description of Boomerang 3 hierarchies.

Boomerang 3 has two hierarchies:

* **Organisation**: how you group objects for daily work and permissions.
* **Infrastructure**: the technical components that deliver readings and alarms.

### Organisation

Organisation is the administrative structure. It also drives what you can see, based on your rights.

Hierarchy:

* System Group <img src="/files/DARv1cxb3oUzp0vvqKSv" alt="" data-size="line">
* Division ![](/files/ohrYrBSHfZ3V0INX1oc2)
* Group and optional subgroup(s)

Top-level groups are called **root groups**. They use the green group icon <img src="/files/kkHr8inRQOOOzJ3ftBFp" alt="" data-size="line">.

Lower-level groups use the blue group icon <img src="/files/lZd1MNgy2eEaRdA1poRW" alt="" data-size="line">.

Access to organisation levels depends on your rights. For example, a normal user may only see groups and subgroups.

### Infrastructure

Infrastructure is the technical structure. It contains the hardware and software blocks that deliver measurements and dispatch alarms.

Examples include objects, gateways, measuring points, measuring ranges, and relay boxes.

Infrastructure is configured in the **Admin** menu (administrators only). See the [Admin manual](https://help.boomerang3.com/boomerang-3-domain-administrator-manual/).

### Objects

Groups and subgroups contain objects. Objects connect organisation and infrastructure.

Object types:

* Regular object <img src="/files/7cR0KnApDbIgobO7x26d" alt="" data-size="line">: measurement points and control points.
* Transport object <img src="/files/XhhoPAGpHLAGMxGLQ2Al" alt="" data-size="line">: transport points and control points.
* Functional object <img src="/files/IsaTwAdgFdXOlsqPF699" alt="" data-size="line">: control points only.
* Technical object <img src="/files/ux55A9wm001C0vAvzcaj" alt="" data-size="line">: technical measuring points (battery, radio level).

### Points

Objects have points assigned to them. These include measuring, transport, technical, and control points.

### How it appears on the Dashboard

Your administrator defines the structures. They reflect your organisation and the naming of measuring and control points.

The system structure is shown in the overview part of the Dashboard.

You only see levels you have access to. An administrator may see system groups. A standard user may only see lower-level groups.

Click the icon of an item to unfold the structure below.

In the example below the `S1` system contains 2 divisions, `S1D1` and `S1D2`. The `S1D1` division was unfolded, and it contains 2 root groups, `S1D1G1` and `S1D1G2`.

Click the group to unfold it. A group may contain subgroups and objects with their measuring points.

The `S1D1G1` group contains `S1D1O1` object, for which its first 3 MPs are shown below. The list of objects and sensors in this group is longer and the screenshot presents only the top part.

The S3 system contains 1 division, `S3 D1`. It contains 1 group, `S3D1 G1`, which has 2 subgroups, `S3D1G1G1` and `S3D1G1G2`. There is also `S3D1O3` object, which has no MPs.

11. [Search](/boomerang-3-user-manual/common_elements/search) filters the organisation list by name. Results appear after you enter 2+ characters. Click **Clear** to reset.

# Language selection

Select temporary UI language.

Click the flag icon to change the UI language for the current session.

The change applies instantly.

At next login, the language resets to your profile default.

To change the default language, update it in [Profile settings](/boomerang-3-user-manual/dashboard/profile-settings).

# Profile settings

Open your profile, update preferences, and manage PIN and alarm delivery.

Every user can open and edit their own profile settings.

Some fields may be read-only, depending on your role and login method.

### Update fields

#### Account

* **Name**: Your display name.
* **Email**: Used for login (most roles) and email alarm delivery.
  * Changing this will change your login.
* **Username** (domain admins only): Used for login instead of email.

#### Preferences

* **Time zone**: Used for event and alarm timestamps.
* **Language**: Default UI language after login.
  * Temporary session language is described in [Language selection](/boomerang-3-user-manual/dashboard/language_selection).

#### Notifications

* **Phone Number**: Used for SMS and voice call alarms.
  * Format must include country code, for example `+358401234567`.
* **Disable alarms**: Pause alarm delivery for a date range.
  * See [Disable alarms for a user](/boomerang-3-user-manual/dashboard/profile-settings/disable-alarms-for-a-user).
* **Alarm Group**: Shows your alarm groups and how many users receive alarms in each.

#### Security

* **Use PIN for signing**: Enable signing with PIN (requires a PIN).
* **User Devices**: Mobile devices registered for the ICU Boomerang Mobile app.

# Change password

Update your password from your profile, then log in again.

Create a PIN and enable signing with PIN instead of password.

A PIN can be used for signing instead of your password.

The PIN must be 4–6 digits.

# Email and SMS test

Send test notifications to verify email and SMS delivery for your user.

Use these tests to verify your notification settings.

# Disable alarms for a user

Temporarily pause alarm delivery for your user, then re-enable it later.

Use this when you don’t want to receive alarms for a period (vacation, absence).

Disabling alarms can leave an alarm group with no active recipients.

The system warns when only one (or zero) users remain.

2. In **Disable alarms**, set **From date** and **To date**.

### Understand the warning icons

The system monitors how many users will receive alarms for each alarm group.

If only one user remains, the UI shows a warning.

Example: only one user will receive alarms from some alarm groups.

If the last active recipient disables alarms, those alarm groups show an alarm icon.

The system allows you to save this change, even if it leaves an alarm group with no active recipients.

# Graph tab

# Activity log tab

Review alarms, warnings, and other events for selected measuring points.

The **Activity log** tab lists events for the selected measuring points.

### Event types

Events can include:

* alarms and warnings
* communication errors
* configuration changes

### What each record includes

Typical fields include:

* event date and time
* measuring point name
* event type
* description
* alarm limit name
* signing user details
* comments

### Filter and sign alarms

Use **Event Type** filters to narrow the list.

### Create a manual entry

1. Enter a comment.
2. Optionally upload a document (for example, a maintenance report).
3. Select **Manual** and/or **Important** if needed.
4. Click **Save** and sign.

# Measuring Points selection

Select which measuring points are included in graphs, lists, and logs.

Use the measuring point names at the top of the detailed object view to toggle visibility.

Selected points affect most tabs.

Tabs hide data for points that are not selected.

# Object view scope

How measuring point selection and time range control what is shown in the object view.

Object view tabs follow a shared scope.

Scope is defined by:

* time range
* selected measuring points

### Time range

Select the time range as described in [Time range selection](/boomerang-3-user-manual/common_elements/time-range-selection).

### Measuring points selection

Select measuring points as described in [Measuring Points selection](/boomerang-3-user-manual/dashboard/object_view/detailed-object-view/measuring-points-selection).

### Result

Tabs only show data for the selected measuring points inside the selected time range.

What measuring, transport, control, and technical points mean.

Points belong to objects.

Point icons and behavior depend on point type.

### Measuring point

Collects measurements from a sensor (for example, a temperature sensor).

The icon may appear grey when no readings are received.

Show technical objects used for infrastructure diagnostics.

Use **Show technical Objects** to display technical objects in the organisation tree.

# Alarms and warnings handling

End-to-end alarm flow.

Boomerang monitors measuring point readings.

When a value crosses a limit, the system raises a **warning** or an **alarm**.

# Alarm delivery

How alarms reach users (email, SMS, voice call, mobile app, and external devices).

Boomerang can deliver alarm notifications using one or more channels:

* email
* SMS
* voice call
* B3 Web Panel
* mobile app notifications (if configured)
* external alarm devices (for example, strobe lights)

Delivery is configured by an administrator using **alarm groups**.

Where alarms and warnings show up in the dashboard and object views.

Active alarms and warnings are visible in several places.

### Dashboard: Measuring Points button

* **Green**: no active alarms or warnings
* **Yellow**: at least one active warning, no active alarms
* **Red**: at least one active alarm

The number in the center shows how many active alarms are in scope.

# Alarm limits

Understand warning vs alarm limits and how they behave.

The alarm limits may be defined as warnings or alarms.

Alarm limits define when a measuring point reading becomes a **warning** or an **alarm**.

An example of a graph with limits is shown below.

### Warning vs alarm

* **Warning**
  * Indicates values outside normal range, but still acceptable.
  * Closes automatically when readings return within limits.
  * Usually does not require immediate intervention.
* **Alarm**
  * Indicates values outside allowed range.
  * Requires immediate attention.
  * Remains active until signed.

### Time-of-day schedules

Limits can be valid only during specific times of day.

Use this to ignore expected deviations (for example, defrost cycles).


# Alarm filter

Require consecutive out-of-limit readings before the alarm triggers.

Each alarm limit has a parameter called **Alarm Filter**.

Use Alarm Filter for real-world scenarios where you log a parameter frequently, but you only want an alarm after a few consecutive readings are outside the limits.

Alarm Filter is the number of consecutive out-of-limit readings required before the alarm becomes **armed**.

With `Alarm Filter = N`, the alarm triggers on the (`N + 1`)th consecutive out-of-limit reading.

At the start of each “out-of-limit” sequence, the system initializes an internal counter `C`.

The counter works like this:

* `C` is initially equal to the Alarm Filter value.
* `C` is decremented by 1 for each reading outside the limits.
* If `C = 0`, alarm detection is armed, and the **next** reading outside the limits triggers an alarm.
* After an alarm is generated, `C` is ignored. Further out-of-limit readings do not generate additional alarms.
* When a reading returns within the limits, `C` is reset to the Alarm Filter value, and alarm detection is re-enabled.
* When an alarm for the measuring point (MP) is signed, `C` is reset to the Alarm Filter value, and alarm detection is re-enabled.

### Examples

#### Example 1

`Alarm Filter = 0`, initial `C = 0`. The alarm is triggered by the first reading outside the limits.

Alarm Filter = 2, initial `C = 2`. The alarm is triggered by the third consecutive reading outside the limits.

#### Example 3

Alarm Filter = 2, initial `C = 2`. No alarm is triggered because the reading when `C = 0` is within the limits. This resets `C` back to 2.

* If an active (not signed) alarm exists and the next reading returns within the limits, the next out-of-limit sequence can generate a new active alarm.
* If an active alarm exists and readings remain outside the limits, no new alarm is activated. If the alarm is signed while readings are still outside the limits, the alarm can be generated again once the alarm filter conditions are met.

# Control point handling

How control points appear, expire, and are signed.

Control points remind users about recurring tasks.

An administrator configures each control point with:

* title and description
* first due date/time
* repeat period
* optional end date

### Control points on the Dashboard

When a control point becomes due, it appears on the Dashboard.

It shows a frequency label (for example, **Weekly**) and a due time.

### Key terms

* **Expiration time**: the next deadline calculated from the start time and repeat period.
* **Active**: the control point is currently due and visible.
* **Signed**: a user has confirmed the task is done.

If the control point was signed before its expiration time, it is not active.

It is not shown on the Dashboard.

After completing the task, sign the control point.

* Add an optional comment.
* Sign the action.

If a control point is not signed before its expiration time, the system signs it automatically.

The logbook records **Control Point Expired**.

# Missions

Registering data during a limited time.

Most objects have measuring points (MPs) that send readings continuously.

Sometimes you only monitor parameters for a limited time. Transport monitoring is a common example.

In Boomerang, this time-limited data is stored as a **mission**.

### Mission components

Missions use BTiny gateways and BTiny mission sensors (Mission Loggers).

To store mission data, create a **mission object** in the system. Assign **mission MPs** to the mission object.

Mission MPs can be:

* **Real mission MPs**: store readings received directly from BTiny mission sensors.
* **Virtual mission MPs**: store imported or moved mission readings.

### How mission measurements are registered

You can register mission measurements using:

1. **BTiny mission sensors.**
2. **Logger cards**.

#### **1. BTiny mission sensors**&#x20;

BTiny mission sensors (Mission Loggers) are described in [ICU Scandinavia Transport Solution](https://icuscandinavia.se/transport-solution/).

* Sensors log temperature offline or online.
* The data is uploaded online, if the sensor is within range of a **Cloud Connector**.
* Readings are sent to the Boomerang 3 server and stored in **real mission MPs**.
* If needed, mission data can be moved from **real** to **virtual** mission MPs.

The BTiny temperature loggers are battery-operated.

They have an internal memory buffer for continuous logging during transport.

The logger communicates with the Boomerang cloud when it is within wireless range of a Cloud Connector.

BTiny temperature loggers can log temperatures from -196°C up to +120°C.

#### **2. Logger cards**.&#x20;

Logger cards are described in [Logger cards documentation](https://help.boomerang3.com/logger-card-client-user-manual/).

* Logger cards register temperature offline.
* Readings are sent to the Boomerang 3 server using the Logger Card client application.
* Readings are stored in **virtual mission MPs**.

# BTiny Mission sensor usage

How to use BTiny Mission sensor.

Use this flow to start, run, and stop a transport mission with a BTiny mission sensor.

### Start the mission

Start the mission using one of these methods:

* **Boomerang** (PC or smartphone). Choose an immediate start or a scheduled start.
* **BTINY009 tactile button**. Press it while the sensor is within wireless range of a **Cloud Connector**.

### Ship the package

Put the temperature logger in the package and ship it.

The sensor logs temperature offline. If it is within wireless range of a Cloud Connector, data is uploaded online to Boomerang.

### Stop the mission

Stop the mission using the same method you used to start it.

If the mission is scheduled, it stops automatically at the configured stop time. You can also stop it manually in Boomerang.

To stop it using the BTINY009 button, the sensor must be within wireless range of a Cloud Connector.

### Sync the data

Bring the sensor within range of a Cloud Connector. This ensures all logged data is transmitted to Boomerang.

After upload, the data is stored as a mission in a **real mission measuring point**.

# Mission handling

Example of mission handling.

Mission objects are used to store time-limited measurements, such as transport monitoring.

### Example mission object

A mission object called **Transports** contains:&#x20;

* 3 **virtual mission MPs** called `-22 -18°C`, `2-6°C`, and `2-8°C`
* 3 **real mission MPs** called `TPatrol sensor 1`, `TPatrol sensor 2`, and `TPatrol sensor 3`

The real mission MPs receive readings directly from BTiny mission sensors.

### Real vs virtual mission MPs

* **Real mission MP**: represents a physical BTiny mission sensor. This is where readings arrive first.
* **Virtual mission MP**: a “bucket” you can use to organize mission results. Typical use is grouping by a target range (for example, `2-8°C`).

### Typical workflow

1. Start the mission and collect readings in a **real mission MP** (one per sensor).
2. After the mission ends, review the mission data.
3. If needed, move or copy mission data into a **virtual mission MP** to group missions by use case or temperature range.

When a mission is active, the MP form shows mission control buttons.

* **Stop** <img src="/files/4GXyRnkaTjTLAG0bXYBt" alt="" data-size="line"> the active mission.
* **Schedule** <img src="/files/wkPwVz0g2rS71UklibjX" alt="" data-size="line"> a mission for later. See [Schedule mission](/boomerang-3-user-manual/dashboard/missions/mission-handling/schedule-mission).
* **Cancel** <img src="/files/XYXAL69nZTKG1jULFb4s" alt="" data-size="line"> the active mission.

To cancel a scheduled mission *before it starts*, the mission must be visible in the mission list.

To make it visible, adjust [Time range selection](/boomerang-3-user-manual/common_elements/time-range-selection) using **Custom** settings.

Set the end time beyond the scheduled mission start time.

Then select the mission in the list and cancel it.

The current mission is shown as active in the mission list.

* A scheduled mission shows both start and stop time.
* An unscheduled mission shows only the start time.
* The active mission marker is also shown next to the mission controls.

# Stop mission

You can stop an immediate mission and a scheduled mission in the same way.

If you use a **BTINY009** sensor which is within wireless range of a **Cloud Connector**, you can also stop the mission from the sensor by pressing its tactile switch.

A scheduled mission can be stopped the same way. It also stops automatically at its predefined stop time.

### Review the completed mission

After you stop the mission, it appears in the mission list.

# Move mission

You can move a completed mission from a **real mission MP** to a **virtual mission MP**.

This is optional. It is useful for organizing and alarm handling.

### When to move a mission

Move missions when you need one of these:

* Different alarm limits per transport type.
* A simple category structure (product, carrier, recipient).

Example: keep the BTiny MP without limits. Create virtual MPs with different limits. Move each mission to the right virtual MP.

After you move a mission, alarms are recalculated using the target MP limits. This can create new active alarms.

### What changes after the move

# Mission alarms

Mission alarms work the same way as alarms on regular measuring points (MPs).

They use the same concepts:

* alarm and warning limits
* alarm filters
* signing workflow

### Prerequisites

Assign an alarm range to the mission MP.

### How mission alarms are shown

After mission readings are saved for an MP that has alarm limits configured, the system evaluates the mission.

Missions that have alarms are highlighted with a red background in the mission list.

Alarm trigger moments are shown on the graph as vertical red lines. This is the same as for regular MPs.

The report time range is the selected mission time range. It is based on the mission start and stop time.

# Dashboard reports

You can generate reports as PDF documents. You can open them in a PDF reader, such as Adobe Acrobat Reader.

The PDF is generated by the browser. It is saved to your configured download location. This is usually your **Downloads** folder.

### Before you generate a report

Select the report period first. See [Time range selection](/boomerang-3-user-manual/common_elements/time-range-selection).

# Group report

Use **Group report** to generate a PDF summary for a group.

In the Dashboard, expand the system group. Then expand the division. Select the group you want to report on. In this example it is `S1D1G1`.

Use **Object report** to generate a PDF report for a single object.

In the Dashboard, select the system group, division, group, and then the object.

Deselect the measuring points (MPs) you do not want to include in the report.

# Automatic Reports

Automatic Reports lets you schedule reports that are generated as PDFs and sent to your email address.

Use this feature to receive regular reports without logging in.

* Create a new automatic report.
* Change an existing report.
* Remove a report you no longer need.

### Report types and permissions

Available report types depend on your user rights.

Report types include Audit, System Group, Division, Group, and Object.

The report formats match the manual reports described in [Dashboard reports](/boomerang-3-user-manual/dashboard/reports).

Select the **Report Type**.

Some types may not be available for users with lower access rights.

Choose **All** or select the items to include in the report.

### Name and schedule the report

Enter the report name.

Select the report frequency: **Daily**, **Weekly**, or **Monthly**.

For weekly and monthly reports, select the day (weekly) or date (monthly).

The report definition is created.

# Multiple Object Reports

Use Multiple Object Reports to generate a batch of **Object reports** for many objects at once.

Reports are generated as PDFs and sent to your email address.

You can open the PDFs in a PDF reader, such as Adobe Acrobat Reader.

### When to use this

Use this when you need the same report content for multiple objects. This is useful for monthly reporting and audits.

# Documents

Use **Documents** to store and manage files in Boomerang.

Supported file types include PDF, DOC/DOCX, and XLS/XLSX.

### Document locations

Documents can be stored in two places:

* **Categories**: shared folders created by administrators.
* **Object documents**: documents attached to a specific object.

Administrators can create and manage document categories.

### Open Documents

Click **Documents** in the navigation pane.

### Categories vs object documents

Categories have a folder icon and an **Upload Document** button. In the example above, `Reports` is a category.

Object documents are grouped under the object icon and object name (for example, `S1D1O1`).

Upload object documents from the object [Documents tab](/boomerang-3-user-manual/dashboard/object_view/detailed-object-view/documents-tab).

### Common tasks

* Upload to a category or general document list: [Upload document](/boomerang-3-user-manual/documents/upload_document)
* Create a new category (admins only): [Create category](/boomerang-3-user-manual/documents/create_category)

Use **Support** to contact ICU Scandinavia support and access product resources.

Select a topic.

Enter a subject and message.

Optionally, add extra email recipients.

Click **Submit**.

Your message is sent to the ICU Scandinavia support group.

* steps to reproduce
* time of the issue (and time zone)
* affected object/MP names
* your Boomerang 3 version (from the UI, if shown)
* browser and device type

# Introduction

This manual describes the installation and handling of the Logger Card Client used with ICU Scandinavia Boomerang 2, Boomerang 3 and Coolguard systems.&#x20;

Using Logger Card Client, a user may start transport mission and store the mission measurements in the monitoring system database. He can also calibrate Transport Logger card.


# Definitions

# Installation

Follow the steps described in the next chapters to install the Logger Card Client application.


# Software required

The Logger Card Client requires a PC with:

* Windows 10 operating system or higher
* NET 2.0 Framework or higher installed.&#x20;

The Logger Card Client installer (CP001-0005-xx-LoggerCardLight.zip) can be downloaded from [Logger Card Client Software](https://icuscandinavia060.sharepoint.com/:f:/s/Technicalfile/IgCheWvXEfXRQYyzAuJsPWM0ASdGJC3jvD_8dXUm4hdfBis?e=LhsNwf) directory.

Please note the downlaod link is internal and accessible only for ICU Scandinavia personnel.


# Hardware required

* BTLS001 - Logger Card Kit that consists of Logger Card USB interface and 5 Logger card(s)

# Installation of the LC Client

1. Unpack Logger Card Client installer zip file defined in [Software required](/logger-card-client-user-manual/installation/software-required).

2. Double click “setup” to run the installer.

3. Leave default path or choose a custom one and press the “Next” button.

# Installation of additional software

The installer contains also additional software packages that must be installed separately.

They are:

1. 1-Wire drivers
2. J# Redistributable Package

They can be found in Drivers directory in the Client installation directory.

# Installation of 1-Wire drivers

The 1-Wire drivers are needed for communication with Logger cards using a USB Logger Card reader.

There are two separate installers for 32-bit (‘install\_1\_wire\_drivers\_x86\_v405.msi’) and 64-bit (‘install\_1\_wire\_drivers\_x64\_v405.msi’) operating systems.

To install 1-Wire drivers:

1. Double click the correct file to run the installer.
2. Follow the default installation by pressing “Next” button.

3. Read and accept terms in the Agreement and press “Next” button.

# Installation of J# Redistributable Package

To install J# Redistributable Package:

1. Double click “vjredist.exe” to run the installer.
2. Follow the default installation.


# Configuration

This chapter describes the configuration of the Logger Card client.&#x20;

It also presents the configuration of the mission containers called Logger Card sensors in B2 and Mission measuring points in B3. The mission data collected by the logger cards are stored in these containers when they are sent to the monitoring system by the Logger Card client application.


# Logger Card client configuration

The Logger Card Client can work with B2, B3 and Coolguard servers. Its configuration must be set accordingly to work correctly with different types and addresses of servers.
