# Object view scope

In the object view, a user may select the time range that will be displayed as described in [Time range selection](/boomerang-3-domain-administrator-manual/dashboard/time-range-selection.md).

A user may also select the measuring points to view as described in [Measuring Points selection](/boomerang-3-domain-administrator-manual/dashboard/object_view/detailed-object-view/measuring-points-selection.md).

The current selection of measuring points and time range defines the [Scope of view](/boomerang-3-domain-administrator-manual/common_elements/scope_of_view.md) for all the object view tabs. In the other words the tabs will only show the data of the selected measuring points in the currently defined time range.
