# Measuring Ranges

The Measuring Ranges list contains the measuring ranges defined in the system. The measuring ranges are used for MPs that receive data from analogue to digital converters. Together with Input settings it creates the formula that the system uses to calculate the measurement value as described in [Common MP parameters](/boomerang-3-domain-administrator-manual/admin/infrastructure/infrastructure__measuring_points/common-mp-parameters.md#common-adc-mp-parameters).

There are some predefined ranges that are available in all the system groups. The predefined ranges like e.g. 0-10 range above, have no system group nor division scope shown in the list.

An admin can create additional ranges which have a system group and division scope like e.g., New scale+. This may be needed to install ADC MPs for which different measuring ranges may be needed. The ADC MP installation is described in [ADC formula](/boomerang-3-domain-administrator-manual/admin/infrastructure/infrastructure__measuring_points/adc-formula.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.boomerang3.com/boomerang-3-domain-administrator-manual/admin/infrastructure/infrastructure__measuring_ranges.md?ask=<question>
```

The question should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
