Gateways

The infrastructure items called gateways are delivering the measurements to the system. They also receive the data from the system like e.g., MP log period settings. They are hardware or software blocks that communicate with the system over http or https protocol.

Some of the types of gateways detect their measuring points and post their readings to the address defined in their configuration. If the post address in the gateway is set to B3 server, the server detects such posts. If the gateway identifier which is usually MAC address is not yet known, the gateway is added to the Uninstalled Gateways (UG) list. The UG list is described in Uninstalled Gateways chapter.

The gateways shown in the UG list can be then promoted to installed gateways after their place in organisation and names are defined by an admin.

All the gateway types can also be created manually.

Every gateway type has its own installation guide that is not a part of this manual.
