# Google blocked the app when Gmail is used

Problem:

I’ve tried to test the manual calibration on the Calibration App and when I set up a Gmail account for the test email it can’t send a test email.

I have checked that the name and password is correct.

I logged into the Gmail account and there was a mail from google that said they have blocked the login due to “an app that is not from Google”.

When I tried to unblock the app so I could login, I came to a page that said, “Google blocked the app you are trying to use because it does not meet our security requirements”.

 

Solution:

This is Google protection.

You must use an App Password as described here <https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/6010255?hl=en#zippy=%2Cuse-an-app-password>.

After you set the app password, first confirm the you did it in the mail from Google and then enter it as a password.
