# Application settings… - SMS Service Setup

The Boomerang system uses SMS’es to send different types of messages, like warnings or alarms to system users. The SMS Service is an SMS gateway.

The SMS Service option requires a license from ICU.

The ‘SMS Service Setup’ form is filled in by ICU personnel.

The Boomerang system may also use a local GSM modem for sending SMSes. The SMS Service however may provide additional functionality like voice SMS.

At present the Boomerang system offers support for the following SMS Services:

To use the service mark “Enabled”, select “Wireless Maingate” from the list and fill in “Name”, “Password” and “Phone number” which are provided by the service provider

To test the settings enter your mobile phone number into box right from the “Test” button

Click “Test”

If all the settings are correct, the dialog ‘SMS Posted OK’ appears as shown below.

Click OK to close the dialog.

If settings are incorrect, an error message is displayed. An example of such a message is shown below but note that the text will differ depending on which setting is incorrect.

To use the service mark “Enabled”, select “Infobip” from the list and fill in “Name” and “Password” which are provided by the service provider

To test the settings enter your mobile phone number into box right from the “Test” buttons

Click “Test Voice” or “Test Text” to test voice or SMS messaging accordingly.

If all the settings are correct, the dialog ‘Voice message Posted OK’ or ‘SMS Posted OK’ appear as shown below.
